Description

Introduction What is the "Akamatsu Guitar Project"?

The "Akamatsu Guitar Project" is a venture undertaken by Diviser, who has been using various types of wood in guitar construction, to reexamine the allure of domestic materials. This project focuses on utilizing Akamatsu (Japanese Red Pine) that has suffered from insect damage in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture. The unique characteristics resulting from insect holes and exposed knots are seen as individualistic features, elevating the design of guitars to unprecedented levels.

Introducing the first-ever Akamatsu guitar by Momose! Building upon the Akamatsu guitars previously crafted under the Bacchus brand, Momose has developed a new model. Based on the Original series, renowned for its high playability, this guitar incorporates Akamatsu as the body material, introducing new visual and sonic elements.

Akamatsu is known as a tone wood that is soft and lightweight. It offers excellent handling and delivers a clear and easily playable sound, distinct from the typical Alder or Ash woods. Experience the unique sound that can only be achieved with Akamatsu, a wood born and raised in the climate of Japan.

Milk Paint and meticulous aging process To highlight the insect holes and prominent knots in the wood grain, a milk paint finish is applied, which is commonly used in furniture and other applications. Additionally, an aging process is applied to create a vintage-like appearance, simulating the feel of a well-worn instrument. Each guitar has a distinctive and personalized Akamatsu look, making it truly one-of-a-kind.
