Seventy Seven ALBATROSS SPRUCE WSE’25/E – Translucent Black
Ultra-limited edition – only 6 copies worldwide, including just 1 for Europe
A reinvented ALBATROSS, combining tradition and modernity
With this ALBATROSS SPRUCE WSE'25/E, Seventy Seven presents a resolutely modern interpretation of its iconic semi-hollow model. With only six examples produced worldwide, this very special version perfectly embodies the DEVISER philosophy: respect for wood, master craftsmanship and uncompromising sound research.
Behind its compact and elegant format lies a guitar designed for demanding musicians looking for an expressive, inspiring and predominantly different instrument.
A Japanese craftsmanship heritage since 1977
Manufactured under the auspices of DEVISER, a company founded in 1977 in Nagano, Japan, this ALBATROSS is the result of more than 45 years of luthier expertise. Each instrument is designed with an almost obsessive attention to detail, inherited from the first HEADWAY acoustic guitars and refined over decades.
Here, we are not talking about industrial production: we are talking about living instrument making, where each piece of wood is selected for its sound personality and each instrument is assembled by hand with rare precision.
Spruce & Tochi: a subtle alchemy of sound
The spruce top, the iconic wood for acoustic guitars, provides a quick response, great harmonic clarity and exceptional dynamics. On a semi-hollow guitar like the ALBATROSS, this choice makes perfect sense: the sound breathes and opens up, while remaining precise.
The body, made from Tochi, a Japanese wood renowned for its richness in mid and high frequencies, perfectly complements the spruce. It brings a slightly shiny grain, excellent definition and a natural balance that retains a true electric identity, even on clear sounds.
The result?
An airy yet present sound, capable of subtle nuances and beautiful, singing saturation.
A unique semi-hollow structure
Unlike simply hollowed-out bodies, the ALBATROSS features a genuine centre block construction, inserted after the body has been completely hollowed out. This architecture allows for:
- a generous natural resonance
- a rich, full sound despite the compact size
- excellent stability and resistance to feedback
- a very lively gaming experience
Add to that its featherweight design, and you have the ideal guitar for long sessions without fatigue.
A handle designed for comfort and precision
The multi-ply maple/walnut neck offers excellent stability over time while positively influencing attack and definition.
The dense and responsive ebony fingerboard provides a crisp attack, excellent sustain and a premium feel under the fingers.
Sanko SBB214 frets, renowned for their durability and smoothness, complete a package designed for fluid, precise and inspiring playability.
Mojotone Classic 77: the soul of the instrument
Developed jointly by Mojotone and Seventy Seven, the Classic 77 Humbuckers are perfectly suited to the semi-hollow structure. :
- Alnico 2 magnets for greater smoothness
- optimised winding to preserve clarity
- deep, resonant bass, rich midrange, silky treble
Whether clean or crunchy, the sound remains clear, balanced and musical, with a natural sustain that makes you want to let the notes speak for themselves.
A simple and stylish look
The Translucent Black finish subtly reveals the grain of the spruce beneath the lacquer, creating an elegant and modern look.
The black hardware reinforces this contemporary identity, while the laser-engraved ebony pickguard is a reminder of the attention to detail that has gone into this instrument.
A rare piece for passionate musicians
This ALBATROSS SPRUCE WSE'25/E is not a guitar you see every day.
It is an instrument with character, manufactured in very small quantities, intended for those who are looking for something other than a standardised model.
Only six examples exist worldwide, with just one destined for Europe.
