An inspired design, blending tradition and modernity
At DEVISER in Japan, nothing is left to chance. Since 1977, the luthiers in Nagano have been crafting instruments with an almost obsessive attention to detail. The BARON-JAZZ embodies this philosophy: a subtle blend of jazz heritage and a contemporary approach.
Its semi-hollow body with a domed top (archtop) is not merely aesthetic. It directly influences the instrument’s response, adding depth, resonance and a natural projection reminiscent of acoustic guitars.
A selection of woods chosen for their acoustic qualities
A spruce top is an obvious choice for this type of guitar. Used on violins and high-end acoustic guitars, it offers:
- a quick response to the attack
- great clarity in the notes
- natural harmonic richness
The Nyatoh body, meanwhile, provides balance. Neither too heavy nor too light, it ensures good sustain and tonal stability, whether playing seated or standing.
The maple neck enhances precision and attack, whilst the rosewood fingerboard softens the overall sound with a pleasant warmth under the fingers.
The result: an ideal tonal balance between definition, warmth and dynamics.

With its medium scale length of 628 mm (24.75"), the BARON-JAZZ offers a more responsive playing feel. Bends are easier to execute, and chords fall naturally under your fingers.
The neck profile and fingerboard radius (305R) ensure a smooth feel, whether you’re playing complex jazz chords or more expressive phrasing.

Fitted with a set of double-coil pickups (H-H), this BARON-JAZZ covers a wide sonic spectrum:

The T.O.M. (Tune-O-Matic) bridge optimises vibration transmission, enhancing sustain and precision.
