The Story Behind the Instrument: The Legacy of Yasuo Momose
At the heart of the Aska workshop, every curve, fret, and millimeter of wood is guided by the philosophy of Yasuo Momose. Revered as an undisputed Senior Master Builder in Japan, Momose-San laid the foundations of the Deviser company back in 1977. In an era where computer-controlled NC routers standardize and homogenize global guitar production, Momose and his select team of elite craftsmen made a radical choice: relying on their five senses.
Because wood is a living material with shifting grain and density, no machine can replace the eye and hand of an experienced craftsman. Yasuo Momose himself designed and built his own processing tools to respect the unique elasticity and resonance of each chosen piece of timber. Choosing a Momose means embracing the traditional, handcrafted approach of the 1950s and 1960s, elevated by extraordinary Japanese precision.

The ultra-thin Top Lacquer finish allows the woods to breathe and age beautifully over time, while highlighting the mesmerizing Raspberry Red (RRD-B) burst shade, custom-formulated to enhance the top's flame definition.

The meticulous hand-shaping of the neck and fingerboard guarantees immediate out-of-the-box playability from the included deluxe hardshell case. Jescar® 9662NS frets combined with an oil-lubricated bone nut provide frictionless string bending and surgical intonation accuracy. On the hardware side, Japanese excellence is at the forefront with an ABR-1 type bridge coupled with a GOTOH® GE-101A tailpiece for endless sustain.

Designed around Alnico 2 magnets, these pickups faithfully capture the natural dynamics of the guitar's sacred woods.
