In the heart of the Aska workshop in Matsumoto, Yasuo Momose did not use computer-controlled machines (CNC) to shape his instruments. He trusted his hands, his senses, and over 40 years of experience. Every curve, every joint, and every polish is executed by artisans who select wood not for uniform appearance, but for density, resonance, and vibrational personality. It is this obsessive attention to detail that makes a Momose instantly recognizable from the very first note played.
Uncompromising Luthiery
The solid Ash body, chosen for its clarity and precision, offers defined lows and crystalline highs, perfect for cutting through any mix. However, the true jewel of this piece lies in its Thermowood neck. This thermal treatment grants the wood exceptional stability, immune to humidity variations, while providing that "vintage" tone typical of wood that has naturally dried for decades.
The Natural finish allows the wood to breathe, revealing its magnificent grain, elegantly contrasted by a deep black pickguard that highlights its sophisticated character.
