Momose Custom MC2-TW/R ST-CHG w/BLK PG

This Momose MC2-TW/R ST-CHG is handcrafted in the Aska workshop in Matsumoto, Japan, this instrument comes from the renowned MC series by Momose and was built as a single custom piece exclusively for us.

Its story became even more special in 2024, when the Momose workshop stopped accepting custom orders outside the Deviser Events held in May and November. This guitar is therefore one of the last custom instruments produced outside those events.

The spirit of Momose craftsmanship

Founded in 1977 in Nagano, Deviser built its reputation on exceptional Japanese craftsmanship.

Within the Japan Handmade series, every guitar is fully handcrafted by Japanese luthiers without CNC machines.

Every step — wood selection, shaping, finishing and assembly — is performed with remarkable precision.

The result is an instrument that feels alive, responsive and inspiring.

A refined ST-style platform

The MC model takes the classic ST-style platform and refines it with several improvements.

The enlarged “Large Neck Joint” improves vibration transfer between neck and body while making upper-fret access easier.

The plate joint with drop-in design preserves the traditional tone while enhancing playability.

The wood binding along the fingerboard ensures a smooth feel and prevents fret sprout over time.

Thermowood neck: stability and vintage feel

This custom version features a Thermowood neck finish.

The thermal treatment alters the wood structure to mimic the characteristics of naturally aged wood:

• improved stability against climate changes

• more open resonance

• faster attack

The result is a guitar that already feels mature and resonant from the very first notes.

Ash body: clarity and dynamics

The two-piece Ash body provides outstanding tonal balance.

Ash is known for:

• strong attack and dynamics

• tight low end

• bright and articulate highs

Combined with the maple neck and Indian rosewood fingerboard, the tone becomes perfectly balanced:
maple adds clarity and snap, while rosewood brings warmth and depth.
