Deviser Special Showcase : The Summit of Japanese Master Luthiery

Immerse yourself in the heart of Japan’s most exclusive event. Twice a year, in May and November, production at the Deviser workshop in Nagano comes to a halt to make way for a demonstration of craftsmanship that is unique in the world: the Special Showcase.

A legacy born of passion

Founded in 1977 in Nagano, DEVISER has successfully forged its own identity and established its reputation. Through its brands Momose, Headway, Seventy Seven, STR and Bacchus, Deviser embodies the excellence of “handmade” craftsmanship (you can read the history of the various brands by clicking here).

The Spirit of the Showcase: Exceptional is the norm 

This event is no ordinary trade fair. It is the occasion when the master luthiers at Aska (the prestigious workshop in Matsumoto) give free rein to their creativity, unhindered by the constraints of mass production. The result? Guitars and basses produced as one-off pieces or in ultra-limited runs (often fewer than 15 worldwide).

Here you will discover rare and exotic woods, such as the famous Sakura (Japanese cherry) and Tochi (Japanese horse chestnut), selected for their fascinating acoustic and aesthetic qualities.
