MOMOSE MJS-MV Kazuki Isogai – Modern Virtuoso Series (Renew 2026)
A modern signature built for demanding players
With this MJS-MV Kazuki Isogai, Momose has created an electric guitar that gets straight to the heart of the matter: sound, comfort and expressiveness. Part of the prestigious Modern Virtuoso Series, it was designed in collaboration with Kazuki Isogai to meet the expectations of today’s musicians — those seeking an instrument capable of handling anything, without compromise.
This is a guitar that exudes high-end quality, designed to handle both demanding studio sessions and more intense live performances.
Tochi body: balance and definition
The choice of Tochi (2 pieces) is no accident. This Japanese wood, still relatively unknown in Europe, offers a particularly appealing tonal character:
- Balanced tone with natural warmth
- Shimmering mids that cut through the mix
- Excellent clarity even under distortion
The result is a guitar that’s equally at home with rock and pop, as well as more nuanced styles. The Tochi brings out the richness of every note, without ever sounding overpowering.
Playability and feel
The quarter-sawn maple neck provides stability and responsiveness. Combined with a wenge fingerboard, this results in:
- A direct and precise attack
- A crisp, clear sound, ideal for modern games
- Excellent wear resistance
The slightly flatter radius (280R) allows for comfortable playing in the higher registers without buzzing, with a natural sustain that makes you want to let each note breathe.
Jescar EVO Gold frets also contribute to this premium feel: they are durable, precise and feel very comfortable under the fingers.
Mojotone® Clone ’59 pickups
The Mojotone® Clone ’59 JM, hand-wound in the United States, pay homage to the finest 1959 Jazzmaster® pickups:
- Vintage-inspired tone
- Dynamic response
- Reduced noise (RWRP configuration)
This is the kind of setup that allows you to switch from a crystal-clear clean tone to a rich, full-bodied distortion without losing clarity.
A design thought through down to the last detail
- Premium hardware: GOTOH®, Montreux®
- Ergonomic Kazuki Isogai signature neck plate
- Luminlay side inlays visible in the dark
- Top Lacquer finish for natural resonance
Every detail has been carefully designed to serve the musician, with nothing superfluous.
MOMOSE RENEW 2026 series: what’s new
This 2026 version marks a significant development:
- Incorporation of the Puretone® jack, which is more reliable and quieter
- New “Aska Quality” marking, a guarantee of Japanese quality control
- Overall improvements in stability and durability
These developments make the instrument even more reliable in the long term, particularly for professional use.
The Momose Spirit: The Legacy of a Master Craftsman
The Momose brand is named after Yasuo Momose, a Japanese master luthier renowned for his uncompromising standards. Trained in the artisanal tradition, he has spent decades crafting instruments by hand, even developing his own tools to achieve a rare level of precision.
His approach is based on a simple idea: to allow the wood to express itself fully. Each guitar is adjusted with extreme care, without relying on heavy industrial processes. This respect for the material and the craftsmanship has made Momose a benchmark in Japan today.
