This Spring 2026 edition of the ATB (Aska Team Build) series features a powerful symbol: the Japanese pheasant, the national bird, set against a backdrop of cherry blossoms. Every visual detail — from the sakura pink gradient to the soft green evoking spring — is executed with impressive precision by the master finishers at the Aska workshop.

The refined inlays on the ebony fingerboard depict cherry blossom petals and pheasant feathers, in a typically Japanese aesthetic. The guitar’s back, inspired by ink scrolls, further enhances this unique artistic dimension.

 Instruments crafted to evoke emotion

Behind this exceptional design lies a guitar designed to resonate fully :

• Top made from selected Sitka spruce: a benchmark for its projection, clarity and dynamics. It offers an immediate and precise response, ideal for expressive playing.
• Back and sides made from Yamazakura (Japanese cherry) with a maple centre: a rare wood that brings a gentle warmth, rich mid-range tones and beautiful harmonic complexity.
• African mahogany neck: stability and natural resonance, for balanced sustain.
• Ebony fingerboard and bridge: crisp attack, precision and excellent definition.
• The semi-forward shifted Scalloped X bracing, inspired by a vintage 1934 model, delivers deeper bass and increased volume, whilst maintaining excellent top stability.

The standout feature of this model is its Extra Slim U Grip neck, the slimmest ever offered by Headway. Combined with carbon reinforcements, it offers:

 The legacy of Yasuo Momose

Behind every Headway instrument lies the influence of Yasuo Momose, a Japanese master luthier recognised as a Master Craftsman. After years spent studying and replicating the finest vintage guitars, he developed his own techniques, even going so far as to design his own tools to achieve an exceptional level of precision.
