This "Custom" model was manufactured as a single, unique piece, according to our precise requirements at JapanGuitar-Handmade.com. At a time when the Momose workshop has ceased taking personalized orders (since early 2024), owning this instrument means holding one of the last testimonies of the brand's "bespoke" expertise, outside of their rare annual events.
The Legacy of Yasuo Momose
Playing a Momose guitar is an invocation of the spirit of Yasuo Momose, a legendary Senior Master Builder. Unlike mass production using CNC machines, every piece of wood here is worked by hand. The luthiers rely on their five senses to adapt the carving to the density and elasticity of each individual board. It is this organic approach, inherited from the 1950s and 60s, that gives the MT2 that vibrant soul you won't find anywhere else.

Thermo Wood Neck: This is the heart of this custom configuration. The wood has undergone a special thermal treatment that stabilizes the fibers, simulating the natural aging of a 50-year-old "vintage" instrument. The result?
