Bacchus DUKE-STD – The Japanese take on the classic single-cut guitar

Inspired by the original DUKE models that helped build Bacchus’ reputation, this guitar carries the spirit of classic single-cut instruments while benefiting from the meticulous approach of Deviser, the Japanese manufacturer founded in Nagano in 1977.

Behind every Bacchus instrument lies a simple philosophy: let the wood, craftsmanship and playing feel speak first.

The Global Series version now makes the DUKE’s refined tone and playability accessible to a wider range of players.

A finish that celebrates natural wood

The DUKE-STD features a beautiful Antique finish designed to highlight the natural character of the wood rather than hiding it.

Its arched maple top captures the light beautifully and echoes the design of the original Japan-made DUKE models crafted at the Aska factory in Matsumoto.

The result is a guitar with timeless elegance — almost like a fine piece of furniture you will enjoy keeping for decades.

A tonewood combination built for warmth and definition

The DUKE-STD relies on a carefully selected tonewood combination:

• Maple top for clarity, attack and note definition

• Nyatoh body providing warmth and sustain

• Set Nyatoh neck enhancing resonance and vibration transfer

• Rosewood fingerboard adding smoothness and musical warmth

The deep joint system increases the contact surface between neck and body, improving resonance and sustain.

Designed for comfort and playability

The guitar features a comfortable Slim U neck profile that allows smooth position changes and easy fretting, even for players with smaller hands.

A 305 mm fingerboard radius provides a great balance between chord comfort and effortless bending.

The carefully adjusted neck angle ensures the perfect balance between string tension, attack and sustain.

Versatile humbuckers

The guitar comes equipped with a set of Bacchus Original humbuckers featuring ferrite magnets.

They deliver:

• warm and powerful low end

• singing mids ideal for solos

• bright highs that remain clear for clean tones

The classic 2 volume / 2 tone / 3-way selector layout allows you to shape your sound easily.

Carefully inspected in Japan

Before shipping, every Bacchus guitar is fully inspected and set up in Japan at the Deviser technical center in Matsumoto.

Each instrument is individually adjusted to ensure optimal playability right out of the case.
