Deviser’s journey began in 1977 in Nagano, driven by dedicated luthiers passionate about woodworking. Following a tragic workshop fire in 1983, the company rebuilt itself and launched Bacchus in 1991, establishing an independent voice in Japanese guitar making. Born in 2000 within the revered ASKA workshop, the DUKE design stands as a true testament to Japanese craft.
Sculpted Archtop Curve and Organic Resonance
The DUKE-CTM Alnico features the signature carved top geometry originally perfected in Matsumoto. Its selected Nyatoh body provides a warm acoustic response with rich midrange presence and extended sustain. Coupled with a set Nyatoh neck through a deep-joint construction, string vibrations transfer directly throughout the instrument's entire structure.
The rosewood fingerboard delivers a smooth, tactile feel and rapid dynamic response under the pick. Combined with a comfortable slim U-shape neck profile and a precisely calculated neck pitch, string tension remains perfectly balanced for effortless playing over long sessions.

Neck Pickup (STP-Alnico): Utilizes Alnico 5 staple-shaped pole pieces to deliver shimmering clarity, articulate string definition, and an open, acoustic-like resonance.

Rigorous Japanese Quality Inspection
As part of the Global Series, this guitar meets Deviser's strict manufacturing criteria. Prior to dispatch, every single guitar is inspected and set up by hand at Deviser’s headquarters in Matsumoto, Japan. Craftspeople carefully round the fret edges, adjust the Graphtech® TUSQ XL nut, and fine-tune the action so it plays effortlessly right out of the box.
