Bacchus WL5-ASH RSM - White Blonde (WBD)
Woodline spirit, Ash grain, Bacchus character
Some basses just do the job. And then there are those that tell a story from the very first note.
The Bacchus WL5-ASH RSM clearly falls into the latter category.
Inspired by the legendary WOODLINE series, this 5-string combines elegant aesthetics with a design conceived for demanding bassists looking for character, comfort and real sonic personality.
An Ash body that breathes
The body is carved fromAsh, a wood that has been appreciated for decades for its wide dynamic range, firm bass and precise treble.
The result is a bass that projects sound naturally, with plenty of definition, ideal for both studio and stage use.
The White Blonde (WBD) finish is deliberately translucent, revealing a lively, authentic veining. Each instrument is unique, with a "sublimated raw wood" feel that's immediately appealing.
Block inlays, fingerboard binding and tortoise pickguard add a resolutely high-end touch.
Roasted Maple: stability, comfort and vintage grain
The Roasted Maple neck and fingerboard are not there by chance.
This heat treatment of the wood eliminates residual moisture, making the neck more stable over time, less sensitive to climatic variations, and above all, more responsive.
To the touch, it feels like an instrument that has been through life:
- clean attack
- fast response
- perfect balance throughout the neck.
This is a real plus for modern playing, without sacrificing the warm, organic feel.
A broad sound palette... with turbo mode
Equipped with a set of JB Bacchus pickups, the WL5-ASH RSM covers all terrain:
- clear, precise and articulate sound
- singing midrange
- solid, defined bass
But where it really stands out is with its Turbo Switch, directly inherited from high-end Handmade models.
By pulling the tone knob, the two pickups are wired in series, delivering a thicker, more powerful, almost humbucker-like sound. Perfect for getting out of the mix or changing registers in a single gesture.
Details that make all the difference
- Graphtech® TUSQ XL saddle: improved tuning stability and optimal vibration transmission
- JB bridge with brass bridges: enhanced sustain and precise attack
- Open-gear mechanisms: vintage look, modern reliability
- 34" scale and comfortable radius: immediate grip, even on 5-string instruments
Everything is designed to make the bass a pleasure to play right out of the case.
